A restaurant may offer a single set menu different from its usual à la carte. Ask what is included: the number of courses, drinks, water, coffee and any entertainment.
Also check the start time and the expected duration. A meal that continues past midnight does not fit a plan that includes another evening engagement.

Look at the cost per person, any supplements and the deposit conditions. For a group, check whether the same set menu is required for everyone.
If you are coming with children, ask whether they are welcome that evening and whether there is a suitable option for them. A simple mention of a children's menu on the usual card is not enough.
State the number of guests and your dietary needs. Have the important details confirmed and keep the booking.
A page devoted to another year's celebration is, at best, a starting point for your research. Only a current announcement or a direct confirmation lets you organise your evening.
Consider the return journey before choosing your table. Walking may be an option depending on the location, the weather and your group; otherwise, find out about the solutions available.
Do not assume the usual night service is the same on 31 December. Also check that the access arrangements for the accommodation allow your planned arrival.
