If you like to walk through the old streets, dine and then continue the evening with a stroll, the old town deserves your attention. If you mainly want a rail connection or a particular amenity, also compare the journeys involved.
The name of a district is never a substitute for checking the map. Look at the exact location and the route to the places you want to reach, rather than a simple straight-line distance.

For two travellers, the criteria are not the same as for a family. Check whether there are separate bedrooms if that matters to you, the type of beds and the space taken up when a sofa bed is unfolded.
Also look at the amenities actually offered. A kitchen, a space for meals or a child's bed should not be assumed: their presence and conditions of use should appear in the listing.
Ask how to access the accommodation, from what time and under what conditions. If you are coming by train, check the solution suited to your luggage. By car, enquire about parking independently of the accommodation.
During a major event, also look at the announced traffic restrictions. The car park you usually use may not be reachable via your preferred route.
Include mandatory fees, the tourist tax where it applies, transport and any parking expenses. The aim is to compare equivalent stays.
