For lunch between two walks, favour a time and a set menu compatible with your visits. For an evening for two or a family meal, look more at the atmosphere, the duration and the booking options.
The most convenient address depends on the day's programme. You can choose a table near your outing rather than systematically returning to the accommodation.

Ask whether the venue offers its usual card, a holiday menu or a special service. This check matters especially for 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January.
A card published for the previous year is not a confirmation. The times and menus must match the date booked.
State the number of guests, the presence of children and the dietary constraints. For a group, ask whether a menu choice must be sent in advance.
Check any deposit, the cancellation conditions and how long the table will be held in the event of a delay.
If you are attending a show or a major event, do not schedule the times too tightly. The time to leave the area and reach the restaurant can exceed a simple walking estimate.
Also prepare the return to the accommodation so you can enjoy the dinner without improvising at the end.
This guide does not rank the restaurants and does not claim to announce their opening times: it helps you book on current information.
