Keep your first walk simple: Place Saint-Epvre, the Grande Rue and back through the streets that catch your attention. After the journey, the aim is to get your bearings.
Settle in according to the agreed times, then choose a dinner that suits how tired you are. A short evening outing may be enough for this first day.

Devote the morning to the ensemble of the Place de la Carrière, the Arc Héré and Place Stanislas. You can observe the details during the day before seeing these places again in a different light.
In the afternoon, plan for a village or an activity that is actually open on your dates. If you want to attend a show, build the evening around its time rather than adding several constraints.
Choose an indoor activity, an available guided tour or a treat-filled discovery. A successful trip does not mean stacking up sites: it is better to keep time for a visit you genuinely want to do.
If you leave in the afternoon, do your fragile purchases last and check the options for handling luggage. Do not assume it can stay at the accommodation after check-out.
With children, make the second day the highlight and keep the other two lighter. As a couple, you can book a special meal and extend certain walks.
